Hello again, my unseen and possibly imaginary audience. You may well ask, "Rachael, why are you writing a blog when the site isn't even up and open for business yet?" And I say to you, heartily and without remorse, "So that when visitors come, they will have some fresh, steaming hot piles of nonsense to read!" So you see, it's all for you.

I just noticed today that Blogger is made by a company called Pyra. You know, like the Fire Goddess in "Air, Earth, Water, Fire?" If you have no idea what I'm blathering on about, hie yourself over to the Writings section and check out the third novel there. That's the one I'm currently working on, and it's a lot of fun so far. It's a very different tone from "The Star and the Vine," as well it should be. It's a little lighter, a little sillier, with much less angst. That's not to say that there's no angst at all, though. See, I can give you love and angst without the rhetoric...or I can give you angst and rhetoric without the love...or I can give you all three, concurrent or consecutive. But I can't write fantasy without the angst. Angst is compulsory. They're all angst, you see.

(Name the movie reference and get a coconut Tastykake! They're at the store, assuming you live near Pennsylvania!)

Hi, everyone! This is my first entry on my first blog, which is hosted on my very first website. That's a lot of firsts. Whether you are a friend, an interested agent, or a random surfer with a curious disposition, I hope you find something worthwhile on my site. Oh, and before you go, be sure to sign my guestbook with comments, questions, feedback, scathing criticisms, and virtual hugs (not necessarily all of them, though you can if you like.) That's all for now. Have fun, enjoy the end of summer (unless you're in the Southern Hemisphere), and remember to eat some yummy cookies after dinner tonight. Cookies make everything better.
